Versatile functions – to determine the oxygen bound to the haemoglobe in percent (%) pulse oximeters work with two light frequencies (red and infrared). This percentage value is referred to as oxygen saturation or SpO2 (oxygen-partial pressure). In addition to oxygen saturation, pulse oximeters measure pulse rate and oxygen saturation level (SpO2 level).
