As a rule, Emser salt should be used in isoosmotic (i.e. adapted to the mineral content of the blood) concentration. To do this, the contents of a bag of 1.475 g are dissolved in 125 ml of water or a bag of 2.95 g in 250 ml of water. Higher concentrations are only possible according to the doctor. Lower concentrations should not be used. The quality of the water to be used depends on the purpose. In case of misting using a suitable atomiser, the use of distilled water is recommended, otherwise the nozzles of the devices may clog. The distilled water should be freshly distilled, otherwise it is recommended to boil. For the production of a nasal rinse, tap water (drinking water quality, as hand warm as possible). In the first 3 days after endonasal procedures, boiled tap water should be used. For nasal washing: adults and children aged 3 and up should rinse the nose 1 to 3 times a day with 100 to 300 ml isoosmotic solution, whereby volume up to 125 ml is usually sufficient for children up to 12 years. For teenagers over 12 years and adults, rinsing volume from 250 ml is recommended

Warnhinweise

Please use rinse solutions made with drinking water only immediately after their production, as Emser salt contains no preservatives and the solution quickly germinates when stored. Please pay attention to the complete solution of the salt by shaking vigorously or swirling. The water used to make the rinse solution should not be warmer than 50 °C
